New era in dictation mobility and security
31-12-1969
The Digital Pocket Memo 9600 continues to offer functionality integral to
earlier versions (voice commands, voice activation and keywords, etc.) but also
offers new, advanced but easy-to-use features:
The highest data security standard in mobile dictation is achieved through file
encryption, passwords and personal user keys (HIPAA compatible). Voice files can
be password-protected on the device itself to prevent unauthorized access. DSS
Pro file compression, an enhancement of the industry’s DSS standard, guarantees
crystal-clear sound quality for more accurate manual transcription and optimized
speech recognition results. The Digital Pocket Memo features the largest backlit
display of any dictation unit and its unique smart buttons make operability
completely intuitive. The unit has a ‘quick recharge’ feature that ensures
constant availability. The new 9600 also features a robust metal case and an
award-winning design.
Dr. Thomas Brauner, Managing Director of Philips Speech Processing said “The
Philips Digital Pocket Memo 9600 series is an easy choice for professionals who
attach considerable importance to working with the most advanced technology
available. That’s why this design-driven, high-tech tool not only boosts
productivity but also makes a statement about how attorneys, physicians and
other professionals value quality, reliability and accuracy in their daily
work."
The Digital Pocket Memo 9600 also recently received the IF Product Design award
2007 for its outstanding ergonomics and innovative functionality.
Philips also announces the introduction of a new LAN Docking Station,
representing an entirely new concept in PC-free file transfer. It transfers
dictations from the Digital Pocket Memo through a LAN (local area network) to a
transcriptionist or a speech recognition system without connecting to a PC.
Encryption ensures that dictations are sent securely through the company network
or the Internet, regardless of whether the destination is next door or on the
other side of the world.
The new Philips Barcode Module has also been redesigned to snap onto the new
Digital Pocket Memo. It is a highly compact laser scanner that retrieves
important patient or client information by scanning the barcode. The scanned
information is securely attached to the dictation, saving time and minimizing
the risk of errors. The Barcode Module can also be used as a USB scanner device,
directly transferring the barcode information to a PC.
The Philips Digital Pocket Memo 9600 Series, LAN Docking Station and Barcode
Module will be available from March 2007.
